  • Florida State University has announced the establishment of a new undergraduate degree program at the university. The Civics and Liberty Studies program will be designed for students seeking to focus on civic leadership and launches this fall.  
  • The Palm Beach County commission postponed a planned vote on the development of a 24-hour emergency room in the Acreage by HCA Florida Palms West Hospital. The postponement came amid concerns about the project in the community and has been tabled for 60 days.  
  • JetBlue is adding flights at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. Nine additional flights will be added including a daily flight to Cleveland starting July 8th. 
  • Amid the continued partial government shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, wait times rose at Palm Beach International Airport fell on Wednesday. The average time to clear through security at PBI totaled 14 minutes, which is only about a minute longer than usual. The longest wait times were reported during the 10 am hour yesterday. 
  • It’ll be sunny and warm again today with a high in the low 80’s throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. Rain chances increase significantly over the weekend. 
  • Gas prices were flat on Thursday following four straight days of declines, with the average price for regular unleaded currently at $3.88 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.03 per gallon, in Martin the average is $3.93, it’s $3.89 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $3.92 per gallon.
