  • Governor DeSantis signed the Official Actions of Local Governments and Prohibited Governmental Policies Regulating Greenhouse Gas Emissions bills into law on Wednesday. The new laws prohibit local governments from establishing or maintaining DEI offices, officers, or programs, using taxpayer funds for DEI initiatives – including with contractors, setting emissions targets and related policies and requires annual reporting for transparency.  
  • Port St. Lucie officials have approved a $1.5 million redesign project to address the intersection at Village Parkway and Tradition Parkway which has been an ongoing and growing traffic and safety issue over the years. 341 crashes have occurred at the intersection so far this decade. 
  • Palm Beach County Fire Rescue has dispatched two units to assist with rampant wildfires in other parts of the state. As of Wednesday, 113 active wildfires in Florida were burning across 14,000 acres of land. Southeast Florida is the only region in the state that’s not currently impacted by wildfires. 
  • We’ll have gusty conditions along the coast to start the day again today, with highs in the upper 70’s throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast – cooler than usual for this date. A warming trend will begin tomorrow into the weekend. 
  • Gas prices rose a penny per gallon Wednesday to $3.98 per gallon statewide. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.15 per gallon, in Martin the average is $4.01, it’s $3.99 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $4.00 per gallon.
