- The woman responsible for the crash resulting in the death of three members of PBSO in November of 2024 has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide. The indictment follows an extensive investigation led by the Florida Highway Patrol. Investigators determined that Corrine Adrianna Blue’s driving was reckless resulting in the death of Corporal Luis Paez, and deputies Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Ignacio “Dan” Diaz on Southern Blvd.
- A student at Wellington Community High School has been arrested after being found with a gun in a backpack while attempting to enter the school. A metal detector revealed the firearm which was confiscated and the student detained by school police. Authorities say the school is safe, and there aren’t any active threats.
- Christopher Collins has resigned as Stuart mayor to pursue a seat on the Martin County Commission. The resignation was effective immediately as Collins seeks the District 2 county seat. City commissioner Sean Reed is now shown as Stuart’s mayor on the city’s website.
- Today will be hot and dry with highs near 90 – much warmer than usual for this date. Unseasonably warm temperatures will remain in place through Saturday with showers and cooler temps expected on Sunday.
- Gas prices rose significantly once again on Thursday to $4.28 per gallon statewide – 31 cents higher than a week ago. In Palm Beach County the average price is $4.44 per gallon, in Martin the average is $4.34, it’s $4.29 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $4.30 per gallon.
